This is a recent pastel with a figural subject. I found the light in the shadows intriguing so I explored the nuances and temperature shifts within. I included a detail shot of the head. Special thanks to my lovely wife who agreed to be the subject. Approx.5x7 soft pastel on La Carte pastel card.
